    Regarding approving the setting up of a “Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV)” Named “MARVEL” to enable the state police force to carry out law enforcement more effectively using “Artificial Intelligence”…. (PDF 518 KB)

    Government Decision to set up a “Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV)” named “Maharashtra Advanced Research and Vigilance for Enforcement of Reformed Laws (MARVEL)” to enable the State Police Force to perform law enforcement more effectively using “Artificial Intelligence”, Home Department, no. Vide-0823/P.No.130/Pol-3, dated 16.02.2024, has been approved in principle, on the following terms:-

    1. For the purpose of setting up the said “SPV”, the State Government, Indian Institute of Management, Nagpur, and M/s. Pinaka Technologies Private Limited. An agreement should be made between these three parties.
    2. The said “SPV” shall be registered as a private limited company with 100 percent share capital of the Government, owned by the Government, under the name “Maharashtra Advanced Research and Vigilance for Implementation of the Revised Act (MARVEL)”.
    3. The Superintendent of Police, Nagpur (Rural), will be the ex-officio Director and Chief Executive Officer of the said Company and will work directly under the Government (Home Department).
    4. The Director, Indian Institute of Management, Nagpur, shall be the ex-officio Director of the said Company and the other Directors of the Company shall be nominated by the Government.
    5. Accordingly, administrative approval has been given for setting up of the said “SPV” vide GR dated : 16 March 2024.
